New Delhi, November 26, 2024 – Asia’s largest cybersecurity conference Nullcon today announced that it has secured a strategic investment from US-headquartered Information Security Media Group (ISMG). This investment has resulted in a majority stake in Payatu Technologies, the parent company of Nullcon. The funds will be used to further execute Nullcon’s business strategy of building stronger industry partnership, community involvement, and global expansion. Nullcon currently hosts annual Information Security conferences in India and Germany.

“Nullcon has created the most authoritative cybersecurity conference experience and a highly engaged community of technical cybersecurity researchers, making them an ideal fit in ISMG’s portfolio of cybersecurity research, events, and training. We look forward to working together with the Nullcon team to further enhance their reach globally and deepen the engagement between enterprise leaders and researchers,” said Sanjay Kalra, CEO of ISMG

Founded in 2010 by Antriksh Shah, Aseem Jakhar, and Murtuja Bharmal, Nullcon is a premier infosec conference, attracting over 3,000 attendees and bringing together over 400 companies annually. The company has registered a 20% year-on-year growth over the past three years, a testament to its growing influence in the cybersecurity space. Headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, ISMG is a global leader in offering cybersecurity news, views, research, education.

Previous Nullcon conferences have served as a venue for many creative projects leading to groundbreaking work in discovering telecom encryption vulnerabilities, Indian Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) hacking research and several other infosec research projects. The annual conferences feature live bug bounties, live hack demonstrations, and important insights into advancements in information security. Nullcon Goa counts an Indian government Intelligence Agency as its sponsor.

“This investment from ISMG will enable us to bring Nullcon’s grassroots community to a global stage including in the US, enhancing visibility for our sponsors, community, and researchers alike. While researchers will gain a larger visibility for their work through ISMG’s global media outlets, sponsors will equally benefit from enhanced visibility, and our attendees will have more opportunities to connect with senior industry executives, thanks to ISMG’s strong relationships with CISOs and other C-suite leaders globally,” said Antriksh Shah, Co-Founder of Nullcon.

Nullcon’s success is driven by a dedicated six-person team, three of whom have only three years of work experience, reflecting the company’s commitment to inviting fresh talent. The conference’s audience profile includes 70% hands-on cybersecurity professionals, 20% senior decision-makers, and 10% next-generation security professionals. Additionally, Nullcon trains over 800 professionals yearly, equipping them to secure critical infrastructure for organizations worldwide through its specialized training programs.

“As Asia’s premier cybersecurity conference, Nullcon has long been recognized for its exceptional quality and impact on the cybersecurity community. With ISMG’s strategic investment, we’re turbocharging our mission to drive further growth, innovation, and enhanced collaboration within the global cybersecurity community. This partnership will empower us to bring cutting-edge security research and its impact to the forefront, making the complexities of cybersecurity more accessible and actionable for practitioners and stakeholders alike – ultimately elevating the conversation from the technical realm to the boardroom, where it can shape strategic decision-making and drive business value,” said Aseem Jakhar, Co-Founder of Nullcon.

Post this transaction, the founders will continue to lead and expand the conference’s footprint in India and around the world.
